As a young horse rider, my favorite thing to do was jumping with the horse. I absolutely loved showjumping. It was exciting, it gave me an adrenaline rush and the thrill of flying over a huge fence with a horse was like no other. I was not really keen on schooling or dressage. However, I knew that doing the schooling on the horse was the vital groundwork for everything else but I just found it laborious and well, to be honest, a bit boring. I was lucky however that my mum loved dressage. This meant that when I was at school (a different type of schooling which I also disliked) my mum would ride my horse and work on the groundwork for me. Which meant on the weekends I could just get on my horse and shortly after a warm-up start jumping over big fences. To this day I still love showjumping. I love watching the showjumping on television or going to Longines. This little watercolor was an expressive experimental showjumping painting. It was a light sketch where I was studying the movement of the horse. The original sketch I personally felt I used too much water, so the print I took into photoshop and did some digital painting. I cleaned up some of the watermarks and spills and made the print a much cleaner painting which I like the end result of.
